We’ve given the weeknight staple a plant-based twist in our recipe for classic Spaghetti bolognaise with Like Mince. 

Serve over spaghetti cooked al dente with plenty of plant cheese and fresh basil.

What to buy?

Checklist

  • 200g of spaghetti – cooked al dente
  • 1 pack of Like Mince
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion – finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic - minced
  • 4 medium carrots – grated
  • 1 stick of celery – peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 glass of red wine
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 can 400ml chopped tomatoes
  • About 300ml water
  • Salt and pepper
  • Plant-based cheese and basil for garnish

  1. Fry the onions for about 3 min in the oil, then add the garlic and Like Mince and fry for another couple of minutes. Add in the tomato puree, celery and carrots and stir it all together. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Add the glass of red wine and let it simmer until the wine is reduced to about half.
  3. Pour in with the water, chopped tomatoes, rosemary, thyme. Bring it to boil and leave it to simmer for at least 30 mins, but it’ll taste even better the longer you wait. Have a taste and season again with salt and pepper if needed.
  4. Meanwhile, cook your pasta under it’s al dente. Serve the pasta with the bolognaise sauce on top, and finish with plenty of grated plant-based cheese and fresh basil.
