These sloppy-style burgers are worth getting messy for. Smothered in a chilli-style sauce, eat them however you like by adding your favourite burger toppings. Do good, eat dirty. 


What to buy?


  • 1 pack of Like Mince
  • 2 of your favourite burger buns
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ large onion – finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic – minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 100ml water
  • Chili flakes to taste
  • Salt and pepper
  • Your favourite burger toppings

  1. Fry the onion and garlic until soft, about ten minutes on medium heat. Add the Like Mince and let it fry for about 4 minutes.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring everything to a simmer. Let it cook until it gets very chunky, like a very thick bolognaise.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, adding more chilli flakes if you want an extra kick.
  4. Heat your buns under the grill, and put your burgers together with your favourite toppings. We like ours with baby spinach, chopped onions, pickled cucumber, ketchup and sweet mustard.
